BREAM Creek Vineyard is celebrating success in London at the recent 2021 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.

Described as “the world’s toughest and most prestigious sparkling wine competition” by the event organisers, the 2021 event attracted more than 1000 wine entries from 19 countries.
The Bream Creek Vineyard 2015 Blanc de Blanc sparkling – made from 100 per cent Chardonnay – received not only the award for the “Best Australian Blanc de Blanc” but went on to be awarded the “Best Australian Sparkling Wine”.
Bream Creek Vigneron Fred Peacock said: “In winning this award for the Best Australian Sparkling Wine, the international judging panel considered our 2015 Blanc de Blanc to be the best Australian sparkling wine from all the Australian sparkling wines entered.
“This was an amazing achievement, given we faced strong competition from the traditional Australian sparkling wine heavyweights such as House of Arras, Chandon, Taltarni and Clover Hill.
“This award also demonstrates Tasmania’s ability to produce world-class sparkling wine and the inherent suitability of our Tasmanian climate to high-level sparkling wine production.”
Bream Creek Vineyard has only made one Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine – the award-winning 2015 Blanc de Blanc.
However, after this success, Mr Peacock said: “We’ll probably look at making another.”
