THE Hamilton Show made its comeback over the weekend, triumphantly returning to the showgrounds for the first time in two years.
Welcoming back the returning patrons were shearing and wool-handling competitions, camp drafting and showjumping, as well as goat judging and displays from working dogs, the Tasmanian Lighthorse Historic Troop and Brian Fish’s Bullock team, a staple at Tasmanian ag shows.
Food trucks, barbecues and a bar with live music kept patrons entertained, with the biggest crowd coming together for the dog high jumping competition, which saw local working dogs clear jumps over two meters.
Jack Beattie, President of the Hamilton Agricultural Show Society, was beaming from the strong attendance, the warm weather and the fantastic support from the show committee.
“It’s always a good day on show day,” Mr Beattie said.
“You can never really pick the weather and it’s the weather determines the amount of people that turn up, so thankfully the rain has kept away, and our attendance is back to where it usually is, so that’s great news.”
