Seasonal Produce Guide: Your direct link to the freshest of the fresh.
THE Fruit Grower’s Tasmania Seasonal Produce Guide has been launched for another year, showcasing some of Tasmania’s best and freshest seasonal produce and encouraging visitors to visit local farms to enjoy the freshest produce.
Fruit Growers Tasmania and local fruit growers celebrated the launch of the 2024/25 TSPG at Iron Creek Bay alongside Primary Industries Minister Jane Howlett on Monday.
The annual TSPG, published by Fruit Growers Tasmania, connects consumers directly with local producers at their farm gates, retail outlets and farmers markets and is this year available in a digital form for tech savvy agritourism visitors.
Minister for Primary Industries and Water Jane Howlett said the guide was a great resource for consumers sourcing the best seasonal produce for the coming festive season.
As part of the 2024-25 State Budget, Ms Howlett said the Tasmanian Government invested $35,000 to help Fruit
Growers Tasmania transition the guide to a digital version for 2025.
“People travelling around Tasmania can use the new guide to find some of our world-class apples, pears, cherries, berries stone fruits, nuts, honey and vegetables from producers in growing districts across the state.”
The TSPG will feature the “Tasmanian Grown” brand, highlighting the exceptional quality produce grown by Tasmania’s horticulture sector.
Fruit Growers Tasmania President Nic Hansen said it would be hard to beat premium quality Tasmanian fruit bought direct from growers’ orchards just hours after being picked.
“I guarantee our fruit is likely to be some of the best tasting fruit you’ll experience anywhere in the world,” he said.
Available for free across Tasmania, 12,000 copies of the Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide will be distributed to visitor information centres, Spirit of Tasmania ferries, Hobart and Launceston airports and participating businesses.
A digital copy of the Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide is also available to download from the Fruit Growers Tasmania website.
