Tassie's top dog names revealed

Happy International Dog Day! And if your pet pooch is named Frankie, like this little dachshund belonging to the Sims family of Launceston, you are right on trend.

The most popular dog names, released by RACT today are: 

1. Frankie 2. Ruby 3. Daisy 4. Winston 5. Archie

Frankie spends his time between the family home, the family shack at Binalong Bay and the family farm at Glengarry.

Data collected by PetSure shows the Golden Retriever is Tasmania’s most popular dog breed, followed by Cavoodle, Labrador, Miniature Dachshund, Border Collie and French Bulldog.

 “These names and breeds, known for their friendly nature and strong bonds with their owners, highlight the state's love for furry family members,” RACT Chief Experience Officer Karla Wasinski said.
