CURRENT Club President Marg Cranney was also presented with a District Governor’s Appreciation Award for her contribution to the District and an award for her role as one of the Districts Club Support Lions.

These awards, and many others, were presented at the District Changeover Lunch which was held at the Boathouse Centre in Inverma, Launceston. It was an opportunity for the outgoing District Governor to review the year and express gratitude to the many Lions Club members across Tasmania who supported him in his role.

Some of the highlights of the year were the King Island Drought Relief Project in which outgoing DG Rob led a collaboration between Tasmanian Lions and Lions Project Need for Feed in South Australia and Victoria to deliver a huge amount of stock feed to farmers doing it tough on King Island, the establishment of the Tasmanian Online Lions Club and recruitment of 153 new Lions Club members across the District.

The District Changeover Lunch was also an opportunity for new District Governor, Victoria Cochrane, to install her new District Cabinet, which features an increased number of women at District level. DG Victoria expressed her appreciation to Immediate Past District Governor Rob and announced her plans to continue membership growth, to support the development of new Clubs and to foster good relationships in Lions Clubs across the District as they continue to make an enormous contribution to community wellbeing in Tasmania.
