JULIE Triffett has been appointed as Humanitarian/Hunger District Chair and Marg Cranney is looking forward to serving as Global Leadership Team Co-ordinator in the District.

Hunger and Humanitarian activities are two of the eight pillars of service that guide the work of Lions Clubs internationally.

Julie is excited to serve as the Humanitarian/Hunger District Chair.

“In this role I will shine a light on food security in Tasmania especially for children through breakfast and lunch programs in schools," she said.

"Many Tassie families are doing it tough, at the moment and Tassie Lions Club are already supporting school food programs and helping community and neighbourhood houses provide food for their communities.”

Marg said her role is to support club leadership by collaborating with others to identify training needs and then plan, promote and organise training in the district.

"In the last couple of years, District Officers have been talking with clubs about Lions training with a view toensuring relevant and practical training and continuously improving the training that we offer to members.”

More than 50 Lions from across Tasmania volunteer to serve as District Officers to support both the District Governor and Lions Clubs across Tasmania.
