Online Lions changeover

After a couple of false starts, because of the weather at Miena the Tasmanian Online Lions Club (TOLC) held their first changeover lunch at the Great Lake Hotel on Sunday August 18.

Immediate Past President of TOLC, Julie Triffett, hosted the event and created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s almost 12 months since the Club was chartered on September 15, 2023 and Julie also spoke about the Club’s achievements in that time with their four major projects the Safer Families Website; the Affordable Housing Project in New Norfolk; Outdoor Movie Events and contributing to Lions Tasmania Disaster Relief.

District Governor, Victoria Cochrane and husband Richie from the Rocky Cape Lions Club. DG Victoria congratulated the TOLC for its first year and spoke about future of Lions in Tasmania and the importance of Clubs developing flexibility in how we operate. Hybrid and online clubs are a reality for the future in Tasmania. DG Victoria also presented the Club with her banner and pin.

Immediate Past District Governor, Rob Batchelor, installed the TOLC officers for the 2024-2025 year and also noted the Club’s work in their affordable housing project in partnership with the largest housing provider in Tasmania.
