PRIMARY Industries and Water Minister Jane Howlett said the Tasmanian Government has supercharged the SIPP and is eager to see collaboration and capacity building grow with the support for industry development activities.

“The SIPP provides targeted grants on a co-investment basis to agricultural industry associations and peak industry bodies,” Minister Howlett said.

“The Program will allow peak groups and agricultural organisations to apply for funding to support industry-led projects in diverse sectors.

“Agriculture is big contributor to the Tasmanian economy and plays an enormous role in shaping our cultural and social identity.

“We are proud supporters of agriculture, which is why we are investing in development and support projects in partnership with industry.

“As part of the Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future the SIPP is receiving an additional $500,000 on top of the existing $500,000 allocated for this year and an extra $1 million per year of the following two years.

“Agricultural associations and peak industry bodies are encouraged to apply for funding to undertake industry development and support projects.

“This ongoing investment in the Tasmanian agriculture sector will continue to drive the Tasmanian Government’s target to grow the annual farmgate value to $10 billion by 2050.”

Applications will close on 16 August. For more information on how to apply and to view the guidelines visit – www.nre.tas.gov.au/SIPP
