Tom Talbot Trophy

Simon Cameron’s property 'Kingston' has produced the best commercial fleece in the district to win the prestigious Tom Talbot Trophy for the first time.

With seven quality entries in the show, wool from the Conara property has taken out Grand Champion Commercial to secure the win as well as being judged the Most Valuable Fleece and also securing runner-up in the superfine section behind Plassey, near Ross.

Judged today at the Longford Showground Wool Pavilion ahead of Saturday’s show, the wool classes attracted their biggest ever offering of 133 fleeces representing 43 properties.

The Tom Talbot Trophy for Grand Champion Fleece of the Show was an honour established just before the wool industry stalwart and long-time manager of the wool pavilion at the show passed away in 2020.
