Historic plaques stolen
A number of bronze plaques have been stolen from Arthur Square and Pioneer Avenue in New Norfolk.
According to the Derwent Valley Council, the stolen plaques include 13 from Pioneer Avenue, 2 from the Arthur Square Early Settler Wall, the sundial, and the Queen's Jubilee plaque.
The total value of replacing the plaques is estimated at $7,000.
Council has asked anyone who live snear any of these locations and have security camera footage that may have captured anything that would help identify those responsible, or if you know or suspect anyone who may have been involved, to let them know on 03 6261 8500, or call New Norfolk Police.
The theft has been reported to the police.
