Rockliff to visit Island to discuss KI Dairy closure

PREMER Jeremy Rockliff will visit King Island on Friday to discuss the announced closure of King Island Dairy.

He is expected to meet with key stakeholders, including farmers and the King Island Council.

The Premier's visit follows the shock announcement by Saputo last week that they will be closing the iconic cheese factory and shuttering its famous brand mid next-year.

In February this year Mr Rockliff told the King Island Courier that he wouldn't let the Dairy close "[t]hat won't happen. Not on my watch," he said.
