Rowan Cooke joins King Island Council team

Rowan Cooke joins the King Island councillor team and will be sworn in next Tuesday.

Counting of the ballot papers began on Friday morning October 4, and the Tasmanian Electoral Commission announced the results in the early afternoon.

King Islands compulsory by-election was held to fill the ninth vacant seat on the council, following the resignation of Cr Duncan McFie.

The election saw a response rate of 76.67%, with 897 out of 1,170 enrolled electors casting their votes by the time polls closed.
