MUCH needed rain has washed out the first meet for the season of the King Island Racing Club.
With torrential rain falling, organisers took the decision to postpone the meet - Ladies Day - until next Saturday, 7th December.
King Island Airport recorded 55.8 mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am Sunday.
The rain will come as relief to Islanders, who had been fearing a return to drought-like conditions following a dry October and November.
